We’ve answered some of your most frequent questions about building lifted trucks, but here’s what you should know before starting ANY custom build!
How do you plan to use your truck?
The intended purpose of your vehicle determines almost every element of its build. If you plan to drive off-road, specialized suspension, tires, and more are necessary. If you’re just looking for a daily driver, you can focus more on the truck’s appearance.
Certain trim levels are better suited for different scenarios. Picking the proper trim can have an impact on cost, capability, and how much you’re able to upgrade your vehicle.

Check out THIS GUIDE for an complete, in-depth look at the factors that influence ride quality in lifted trucks!
What Ride Quality do you Expect?
Not all models, trims, and suspension kits are created equally. Some higher-level trims come with better stock suspension or shock systems, such as Chevrolet’s Multimatic shocks.
Ride quality is something that directly effects your driving experience, making it a high priority. Make an investment in your truck’s ride quality if your budget permits, whether it’s a full lift kit or supporting components such as strut spacers or reservoir shocks.
What are you doing with your stock wheels?
Once you’ve completed building your vehicle, your stock wheels and tires may become an afterthought. However, they can serve as a great way for you to earn some money back! Selling your stock wheels and tires secondhand can offset some of the spending you’ve done along the way.
Do you prioritize looks or function?
A major factor that is determined by how you answer this question is the stance of your vehicle. Are you looking for an aggressive stance for off-roading, or a more compact stance for everyday driving? The size and caliber of your wheels, tires, and shocks all effect the truck’s stance.
