Our Take on the 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4X

October 13, 2026

We showcased our 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 build at the Great Frederick Fair! Learn more about the AT4X’s exclusive features and our extensive color match process!

Stock AT4X Details

All of GMC’s AT4X vehicles come stock with MultiMatic DSSV suspension. This high-performance suspension can adapt to your terrain and driving habits in order to provide a smoother ride. The stock Sierra 2500 AT4X also comes with 18-inch wheels that pair well with the 1.5″ factory lift.

The AT4X is designed to be an off-road performer, with the suspension and smaller wheels made to cater for larger all-terrain tires. Skid plates protect the truck’s undercarriage from rocks and other debris. GM’s Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine powers the 2500, and features a ten-speed automatic transmission from Allison. The interior is decorated with AT4X branding and full-grain leather seats with wooden accents.

Krietz Color Match Services

GMC recently introduced their Coastal Dune paint scheme, a tan color inspired by desert and military shades. It’s a subtle yet aggressive color that fits well with the AT4X’s off-road aesthetic.

Almost every possible aspect of this vehicle has been color matched by the professionals here at Krietz Customs. Any red, black, or chrome elements have all been changed to the Coastal Dune shade. This includes emblems, portions of the bumper and grille, mirrors, and door handles.

The headlights and tail lights have also been customized. The interior portions have been painted and smoked out to match the tan-and-black color scheme.

Other Customizations

A two-inch lift from Cognito was installed in addition to the DSSV shocks, rather than replacing them with a larger lift. The smaller lift allows the factory upper control arms and MultiMatic system to remain intact, preserving the factory ride and keeping overall expenses lower.

This Sierra 2500 is equipped with 37″ Toyo Open Country R/T Pro tires. These are hybrid tires that have good traction in snowy conditions and on other difficult terrains. They’re not as aggressive as rugged-terrain tires but still have the strong outer tread and sidewalls that traditional all-terrain tires lack.

Gloss Black Fuel Flux wheels complete the blacked out wheel-and-tire setup. At 22×10 inches, they poke about 1.5-2 inches from the side of the truck. If you decide to buy aftermarket wheels, keep in mind that the 2500’s bolt pattern is 8×180.
