A Luxurious Exterior
In 2024, Lexus revealed the redesigned GX 550, the vehicle’s first revamp since 2010. The third-generation GX 550 is defined by a sharp and sturdy body, supported by a twin-turbo 3.6L V6 engine. The vehicle also comes with a factory color match to enhance its premium appearance.
The GX 550’s LED headlights are equipped with built-in washers and a full-length light strip. Power running boards and a hands-free tailgate sensor increase accessibility, and the tailgate camera is still functional even if the split rear hatch is opened.
The GX 550 is capable of operating in four-wheel drive at high and low speeds, and features six drive modes including comfort, sport, and ECO.
Interior and Technology
The Interior is where the GX 550’s luxury features take center stage. The Dynamic Sky Panoramic Roof has multiple transparency settings, changing from clear to opaque at the touch of a button. Lexus’ longtime partnership with Mark Levinson continues in the new GX 550, which comes equipped with a stunning 21-speaker sound system.
Both front seats contain heating, cooling, and massage features. Durable semi-aniline leather covers the seats, which are accented with stitching and a honeycomb trim on the doors. A large infotainment screen displays a birds-eye view of the vehicle upon startup, with a variety of other angles available to assist with close quarters and tight turns.
The rear seats are heated, with adjustable air conditioning controls, charging ports, and cup holders. A third row of seats is also available, and can be folded down automatically if additional storage space is needed.
