We Upgraded the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500!

October 1, 2026

This 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is built different! Here’s a breakdown of our fully upgraded 2500, including the High Country trim and Midnight Edition package!

Performance and Towing

The 2500 is powered by a 6.6L Duramax V8 engine, with either a Turbo-Diesel or Gas option. It’s paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission from Allison. The Diesel engine is a higher performer, but is more expensive and may require more extensive maintenance. The gas option provides slightly less horsepower and torque but is still a capable heavy-duty option. View THIS GUIDE for an in-depth comparison of gas and diesel engines.

The Max Tow Package is available with the Silverado 2500. It includes a trailer brake system, different gearing configurations and heavy-duty hitches. The upgraded towing system allows for up to 21,000 pounds of towing power.

High Country Trim and Midnight Edition

The 2026 Silverado 2500 did not undergo any major appearance changes, but there’s an array of unique features that are included with both the High Country trim and Midnight Edition.

The High Country is the 2500’s most luxurious trim, featuring badging on the interior headrests and exterior, a wood interior trim, and premium technology features.

The Midnight Edition package blacks out many of the vehicle’s chrome elements, including the Duramax and High Country badging, grille, mirror caps and door handles. 22″ Black wheels come stock with the Midnight Edition 2500.

Additional Upgrades

One of the major features of the 2026 Silverado High Country is the upgraded camera system. Depending on the configuration, eight to fourteen camera angles are available. Several of the traditional backup angles are included, in addition to blind spots, trailer hitches, and the truck’s surroundings. Stay tuned for Chevrolet’s complete overhaul of the Silverado in 2027.

Another technological feature is Chevrolet’s Google integration. Google Maps, search engine features, and the Gemini assistant are incorporated into the infotainment system. The increased tech presence is a sign of things to come, as infotainment centers move further from traditional dashboards and closer to fully operational computers.

Custom Build Overview

Our Krietz Customs build continues the blacked out theme of the Midnight Edition with 566B wheels from TIS. The concave design and split spoke ends give the wheels a high-end look, and are the same size as the stock wheels at 22″. The offset of -44 preserves the truck’s aggressive stance. 37″ Nitto Ridge Grappler tires are paired with the wheels, and are an ideal hybrid option that combines ride quality with all-terrain capability.

A 5-inch lift from BDS with NX2 shocks take this 2026 Silverado 2500 to the next level. Unlike most 1500-level trucks, the upper control arms on this 2500 do not need to be replaced. The stock control arms feature an extended knuckle to support the aftermarket components.

Extra Protections

Vehicles with black paint or another dark shade benefit greatly from ceramic coating and paint protection film (PPF). These protections can be applied to the hood, fenders, mirror panels and more. PPF is designed to reduce the damaged caused by rock chips and other road debris. Black paint is much more vulnerable to fine scratches and blemishes, and ceramic coating reinforces the paint’s glossy look and creates a hydrophobic surface. Services such as PPF and ceramic coating are long-term investments that preserve the appearance of your truck.
