The Chevrolet Colorado’s factory lift is supported by a 2″ leveling kit from Cognito, which matches the truck’s front-end height with the rear factory lift. The extra lift also allows for larger wheels and tires to be installed. If you’re using the truck for towing, the lower-sitting front is crucial, but most daily drivers prefer the balanced appearance.

18×9 Fuel Flux wheels with a gloss black finish match fenders and front bumper, and sit just about flush with the fender with an offset of +20. The slightly smaller wheels allow for 305/70 BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A K03 tires. These stocky off-road tires contribute to a more comfortable ride, and are designed to tackle more than just daily driving and errands. The K03s have a thicker sidewall that provides extra resistance against debris and prevents scratching on the wheels.

Why Choose the Trail Boss?

Additional Features

The Trail Boss is the ideal trim level for the Chevrolet Colorado when it comes to aftermarket modification. The factory features included with this trim make up a solid foundation for most custom truck builds.

A Factory lift and larger stock tires provide an increase in ground clearance. The Colorado’s rock slider rails and molded fender flares also boost the truck’s off-road abilities, and a similarly molded front bumper rounds out the off-road focused design. The side rails can also be used as running boards.

Certain off-road upgrades such as fog lights, ditch lights, or a reinforced bumper nicely supplement the Colorado’s factory off-road features. While the rock slider along the side of the vehicle can be used as a step, running boards increase the Colorado’s function and accessibility.

Like other midsize trucks, the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado strikes the balance between everyday function, off-road ability, and overall value. It’s not the most powerful vehicle but gives drivers some benefits of an off-road truck while maintaining a more compact size.
