Meet Our Sales Team: Tori Wolfe, Sales Representative

January 18, 2019 by btrilli Leave a Comment

A great Sales Team is essential to the success of any auto dealership. And we may be biased, but we think our Sales Team is second to none!

Get to know and love them. Then stop by the dealership and say hello!

Tori Wolfe

How’d you end up at Krietz Auto?

I ended up at Krietz Auto by stumbling upon a lifted truck they had in stock that I just had to have! While purchasing the truck, and getting to know Lindsay, I knew Krietz was a great place to work. After I purchased my truck I was offered a position selling, and couldn’t turn it down!

Tell Us About the First Car You Ever Bought/Owned.

The first vehicle I purchased was a 2001 Ram 1500 pick up truck at the age of 16. One valuable lesson I learned was the true value of a dollar, considering I replaced the entire front end.

What’s Your Dream Car? Why?

My dream vehicle is to own a diesel one day. Since I was a little girl I have always loved to watch the diesel trucks at the county fair! If it’s not a truck you won’t see a smile on my face from behind the wheel.

What’s Your Favorite Car on the Lot? Why?

My favorite car on the lot is our lifted 6.7 Powerstrokes! They are the luxury Lariat trim, with a 6″ Zone lift, and American Force wheels! When I’m driving them I absolutely love the looks bystanders give me.They are certain to steal anyone’s attention!

What’s Your Favorite Part of Your Job?

My favorite part of my job is the look my customers have when I’m handing over the keys to the vehicle they’ve dreamed of always having! Whether its a Diesel lifted truck, a sharp looking Corvette, or a first car for their child. The feeling is always the same, and warms my heart that I could have the opportunity to help them!

Describe Krietz Auto In One Sentence.

As a customer’s perspective before I was an employee, Krietz Auto is the ONLY facility I trust to buy from, service and detail my truck!

If you could do “Carpool Karaoke” with any musician, living or dead, who would it be and why?

If I could do Carpool Karaoke with any musician I would choose Garth Brooks hands down! I absolutely love his music, and would die to sing with him!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to know about you?

One interesting fact not many people know about me is I grew up participating with my local 4H group, and FFA Chapters. In my free time I also love to show livestock, and ride my horse.

Want Tori to help you find your dream car?!

Stop by and see her and the rest of our terrific staff today!

Tell us about the first car you ever bought.

My first car was a 1999 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. My dad and I got it at a small auction.

What’s Your Dream Car? Why?

My dream car is an Audi R8. I have always loved the way they look and always wanted a “supercar.”

What’s Your Favorite Car on the Lot? Why?

Favorite on the lot would be any of our Audi’s. They are by far my favorite brand.

What’s Your Favorite Part of Your Job?

Meeting and working with new people everyday. Plus we sell great cars.

Road Salt VS Your Car

January 15, 2019 by btrilli Leave a Comment

Snow, ice, salt….everywhere! With the wrath of inclement weather hitting our area this winter, it is very important that you protect your vehicle from the effects of leftover salt. Sure, the salt is wonderful for melting snow and ice and making the roads safer for us to drive on, but leaving that salt on your car or tires could diminish the quality of your vehicle! Not only does the salt eat away at your car’s paint over time and corrodes metal…but it causes an accelerated amount of dry rot on your tires. It may not be warm out, but it is extremely important to get our vehicle detailed during the winter to keep it in tip top condition, and to preserve the life of your vehicle and tires! Book your detailing appointment today, and let our team get that salt off your vehicle! Book Here >>

Is It Really Necessary To Replace My Timing Belt?

January 11, 2019 by btrilli Leave a Comment

6000 × 3376
YES. The failure of a timing belt in many cars can result in major engine damage. The cost of repairing an engine with a broken timing belt is much greater than the cost of a timing belt replacement.

What Should I Do If My Car Starts To Overheat

December 23, 2018 by btrilli Leave a Comment

2246 × 978
This is a very serious problem – if your car overheats for too long, you can damage your engine. As soon as possible, find a safe place to pull off the road and shut the engine off! Do not attempt to check the fluid level in the radiator; the hot fluid can cause severe burns. The best thing to do is have your car towed so that one of our technicians can look at what’s going on under the hood. At Krietz, we pride ourselves on putting the safety of our customers first.

When To Change Your Oil

December 23, 2018 by btrilli Leave a Comment

1024 × 400
We’ve all been driving down the interstate and that little dreaded light comes on…it’s time for an oil change.  If only it could change itself. But how do we really know when we re supposed to do this? How often should we change our oil, and what happens if we don’t? Look no further, at Krietz we’ve got your back. I’m sure we’ve all checked our owner’s manual and there is usually a suggested amount of mileage to follow that shows you when to get your next oil change; but we can’t just simply go with this number. There are many factors that go into this number. Do you sit in traffic a lot? Do you commute to work? Does your car sit in the garage or driveway more than it’s driven? Our best bet to properly figure out how often to change your car’s oil is to set up a free assessment with one of our techs. Let us do a free 30 point courtesy inspection, and give you the correct mileage based on your specific car model. At Krietz, we don’t just sell cars, we love teaching our clients how to maintain and get the most life out of their vehicle.

Top 3 Tips for Driving in the Rain

September 16, 2018 by btrilli Leave a Comment

Driving in the rain is a challenge for even the moat experienced drivers. Rainy conditions are associated with higher accident rates and caution must be taken to avoid hazard to yourself and others. If you’re uncomfortable driving the rain, it’s best to avoid making trips until after skies have cleared. But for those of us who much drive even when it’s storming, we offer some simple tips to help keep you safe and moving:

1. Give other vehicles more space. Increase following distance between your car and the vehicle in front of you when traveling in rainy conditions. It will be more difficult to stop your vehicle on wet roadways. Giving yourself several car lengths distance will help you avoid crashes in the event that you need to abruptly stop.

2. Turn your lights on. Typically, state law will require this, but you should always turn your headlights on while driving in the rain. Visibility is greatly reduced during rainstorms. Turning on your headlights  helps other vehicles see you.

3. Take your time. You should always adhere to the posted speed limit while driving. But in rainy conditions, it’s best to drive considerably slower than you normally would. As we’ve already discussed, wet roads reduce traction, visibility is lowered during storms and your vehicle’s reaction time is slower than usual. Taking your time will help you stay safe!

Top 5 Tips on How to Avoid Hydroplaning

September 16, 2018 by btrilli Leave a Comment

Welp, it’s officially hurricane season and for our region that means lots and lots of rain! While rain may be good for our gardens, it can be a real nuisance to travel in. Like snow and fog, rain greatly reduces visibility, especially at night. Not only that, but roadways can easily become flooded during storms, and pools of water on the road can quickly become hazards to your safety. If you must travel in rainy conditions, it’s important to know what steps you can take to avoid accidents and remain safe.

Hydroplaning is a major cause for concern in rainy weather. Hydroplaning occurs when one of your vehicle tires rides up on a thin surface of water, losing contact with the pavement, which results in you losing control of your vehicle.
To help avoid this very scary situation, here are some steps you can take:
1. Slow Down! According to safety experts, hydroplaning is most likely to occur when traveling at speeds above 35 miles per hour. Always reduce your speed when driving on wet roadways and during active storms. A good rule of thumb is to drive at least five to ten miles under the speed limit.

2. Keep Your Tires Properly Inflated. Adequate air pressure in a tire helps ensure that vehicle weight is evenly distributed across the tire’s tread pattern. The helps keep the vehicle stable. Stability is necessary for proper handling and may prove especially important in rainy weather conditions.

3. Rotate and Replace Tires When Necessary. Bald or uneven tire tread can be a real hazard in inclement weather conditions as it reduces tire traction. Best practice is to have your tires rotated, balanced and replaced if needed during your regularly scheduled oil changes.

4. Stay Away from Puddles and Standing Water.  Even a small pool of water can cause hydroplaning. If you spot water gathered on the road, common sense would tell you to avoid it by safely changing lanes or maneuvering around it.

5. Never use your Vehicle’s “Cruise Control” feature while Driving in the Rain. If you begin to hydroplane while using cruise control, you will be forced to take additional time disabling the function before you can attempt to regain control of your vehicle.
Happy Driving & Stay Safe Out There!

How To Change Your Oil

August 29, 2018 by btrilli Leave a Comment

We all know the regular oil change is part of the routine vehicle maintenance process. But do you know why changing your oil is so important? Here’s a brief breakdown of the oil change process and why it matters.

The WHY: To understand the importance of regular oil changes, it’s crucial to know how the basic components of your vehicle work. Automobile engines are made up of moving parts that rub up against each other. The friction this movement causes creates heat. Oil is used as a heat-absorbing lubricant for the engine’s parts, helping them work together smoothly, and preventing overheating.

Over time, that oil breaks down and can become contaminated by environmental pollutants like dirt, dust and debris from the engine. Once this happens, the oil is no longer efficiently doing its job and needs to be replaced.

Regular oil changes are vital in maintaining the viability of your vehicle’s engine.

So what does the oil change process look like?

Suggested Supplies:

Engine Oil

Oil Filter

Oil Filter Wrench

Funnel

Oil Pan

Container for Used Oil

Rags

Rubber Mallet

Safety Goggles

Wrench Set

Steps:

Draining the Oil

Underneath the vehicle, find the oil pan and  locate the engine drain plug

Remove the oil plug, and let the oil drain out of the car.

After it has drained completely, replace the plug and put on a new washer.

It can take several minutes for the oil to drain out of the car, so be patient.

Once the oil has finished draining, replace the plug and put a new washer in the drain plug if necessary.

Make sure to inspect and clean the drain, plug and gasket once you’ve finished.

Replacing the Filter

Locate the filter assembly.

Unscrew the oil filter, either by hand if possible, or with a removal tool. Make sure your drain pan is underneath the filter to catch spilling oil.

Prior to installing the new filter, lubricate the gasket with new oil.

Then screw in the new filter until tightened.

Now it’s time to add new oil to the car at the fill hole, under the hood.

Replace the fill cap and you’re done!
